Our Trusts and Estates Group maintains a broad and diversified practice. We counsel individual clients, business executives, professionals, and the principals of privately held businesses in the development of estate plans that address issues concerning the transfer of wealth and property.

Our attorneys work as advisors in this personal area of practice, combining sophisticated tax planning with sensitive, practical solutions as well as comprehensive probate and administrative services. We counsel and assist our clients and their other tax and investment advisors in structuring the client’s financial affairs and in devising and implementing a comprehensive estate plan. This includes preparation of wills, grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), grantor trusts, life insurance trusts, and other irrevocable and revocable trusts.

Working with family members, the Trusts and Estates Group assists in developing plans for management and ownership continuity and succession by means of shareholder, employment, operating and family partnership agreements.
We counsel individuals in regard to various forms of charitable giving involving the creation of charitable trusts and private foundations.

The Trusts and Estates Group also provides trust and estate administration services, including probate proceedings and the preparation of gift and estate tax returns.
